Deep blue polymer light emitting diodes based on easy to synthesize, non-aggregating polypyrene.
Thorough analyses of the photo- and devicephysics of poly-7-tert-butyl-1,3-pyrenylene (PPyr) by the means of absorption and photoluminescence emission, time resolved photoluminescence and photoinduced absorption spectroscopy as well as organic light emitting devices (OLEDs) are presented in this contribution. Thereby we find that this novel class of polymers shows deep blue light emission as re...
متن کاملPhosphorescent cyclometalated complexes for efficient blue organic light-emitting diodes
Phosphorescent emitters are extremely important for efficient organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), which attract significant attention. Phosphorescent emitters, which have a high phosphorescence quantum yield at room temperature, typically contain a heavy metal such as iridium and have been reported to emit blue, green and red light. In particular, the blue cyclometalated complexes with high ...
متن کاملReducing Architecture Limitations for Efficient Blue Perovskite Light-Emitting Diodes.
Light-emitting diodes utilizing perovskite nanocrystals have generated strong interest in the past several years, with green and red devices showing high efficiencies. Blue devices, however, have lagged significantly behind. Here, it is shown that the device architecture plays a key role in this lag and that NiOx , a transport layer in one of the highest efficiency devices to date, causes a sig...
متن کاملA solution-processable phosphonate functionalized deep-blue fluorescent emitter for efficient single-layer small molecule organic light-emitting diodes.
Based on a p-type scaffold, a novel solution-processable phosphonate functionalized deep-blue fluorescent emitter has been designed and synthesized. The corresponding non-doped single-layer SMOLED shows a peak current efficiency of 0.76 cd A(-1) with CIE coordinates of (0.15, 0.09), which is about three orders of magnitude higher than that of the prototype with tert-butyl substituents.
متن کاملContact Injection into Polymer Light-Emitting Diodes
The variation of current I with voltage V for poly(phenylene vinylene) and other polymer light-emitting diodes has been attributed to carriers tunneling into broad conduction and valence bands. In actuality the electrons and holes tunnel into polaron levels and transport is by hopping among these levels. We show that for small injection the I-V characteristic is determined mainly by the image f...
